HONORING Angelo "Jitters" Favata upon the occasion
of his being named Veteran of the Year by the
Veteran's Council of Oswego
WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize and acknowledge those within our midst who have made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
WHEREAS, From time to time this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
all of us; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Angelo
"Jitters" Favata upon the occasion of his being named Veteran of the
Year by the Veteran's Council of Oswego; and
WHEREAS, Angelo "Jitters" Favata served during WWII, and notably was
involved in the Invasion of Normandy, codenamed Operation Neptune and
often referred to as D-Day; it was the largest seaborne invasion in
history and began the liberation of the German-occupied France; and
WHEREAS, Angelo "Jitters" Favata also participated in the Battle of
the Bulge in December of 1944, which was the largest and bloodies single
battle fought by the United States in WWII, and the second deadliest
battle in American history; and
WHEREAS, In recognition of all he has done for his nation and his
community, Angelo "Jitters" Favata has been the recipient of numerous
accolades, including being inducted into the New York State Senate
Veterans Hall of Fame, as well as traveling on the Honor Flight; and
WHEREAS, Angelo "Jitters" Favata has not only served his country,
but also is a steadfast supporter of his community, and is well-known
for sharing his musical talents, often time free of charge at local
benefits as a member of the band Jitters and the Westernairs; and
WHEREAS, Angelo "Jitters" Favata has always taken great pride in his
family, especially his children; and
WHEREAS, Angelo "Jitters" Favata is a shining example of the impact
a person can have when they selflessly serve their county and their
community; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Angelo "Jitters" Favata upon the occasion of his being named
Veteran of the Year by the Veteran's Council of Oswego; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Angelo "Jitters" Favata.
