Senate Resolution No. 2061

        COMMENDING  National  College Resources Foundation
        upon the occasion of hosting its  9th  Annual  Black
        College  Expo  at  Medgar Evers College on September
        28, 2019
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the  communities  across  New  York
State  are  reflective  of  the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations and events which would devote themselves to the welfare of
the community and its citizenry; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
commend National College  Resources  Foundation  upon  the  occasion  of
hosting  its  9th  Annual  Black College Expo at Medgar Evers College on
Saturday, September 28, 2019; and
 
  WHEREAS, New York Black College Expo is an  event  which  highlights
over  50  of the 104 historically black colleges and universities, along
with other higher learning institutions and educational services; and
 
  WHEREAS, Potential students have the opportunity to  attend  various
seminars, speak to representatives from these colleges and universities,
and possibly, be accepted on the spot; and
 
  WHEREAS,  New  York Black College Expo was developed 18 years ago to
serve as a vital link between minorities  and  college  admissions;  the
purpose  of  this important yearly event is to encourage and promote the
importance of higher education while providing positive guidance; and
 
  WHEREAS, It  is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  that  when
organizations  and  events  of  such  noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated  and  recognized  by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend National College  Resources  Foundation  upon  the  occasion  of
hosting  its  9th  Annual  Black College Expo at Medgar Evers College on
September 28, 2019; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to National College Resources Foundation.
