CONGRATULATING the Valhalla High School Girls
Volleyball Team upon the occasion of capturing the
New York State Public High School Athletic
Association Class C Championship
WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and
WHEREAS, Excellence and success in competitive sports can be
achieved only through strenuous practice, team play and team spirit,
nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Valhalla High School Girls Volleyball Team upon the occasion of
capturing the New York State Public High School Athletic Association
Class C Championship on Sunday, November 24, 2019, in Glens Falls, New
York; and
WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, the
Vikings were able to surmount their opponents in the New York State
Championship game and accomplish the utmost high school sporting
accomplishment in this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, The Valhalla Vikings ended a very successful season
finishing 19-3 and capped their historic season off with a 3-1 set
victory of Section 6 Champion Portville to secure the Class C New York
State Girls Volleyball Championship; and
WHEREAS, In a sport such as volleyball, which demands athletic
prowess, unparalleled quickness and agility, as well as exceptional
teamwork, Head Coach Trish Ward and her expert coaching staff worked
hard to hone the skills of this championship team, teaching these
outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable both on and off
the court; and
WHEREAS, Coach Trish Ward and all the outstanding athletes on the
Valhalla High School Girls Volleyball Team has clearly utilized
dedication, determination and teamwork in providing a lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of their
school; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Valhalla High School Girls Volleyball
Team: Isabella Masucci, Natalie Barbuto, Angelica Joseph, Juliana
Abbondola, Naomi Ndzibah, Ava Reluzco, Olivia Callaghan, Dylan Van
Bramer, Jasmine Grant, Sofiah Pacheco, Sophia Cavallo, Linda Rossi,
Stephanie Sicilian, Gabriella Rinaldi, Mikaela Robinson, Elianiz Torres;
and Head Coach Trish Ward on their outstanding season and overall team
record of 19-3; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Valhalla High School Girls Volleyball
Team, and Head Coach Trish Ward.
