Senate Resolution No. 2712

        MOURNING   the   death   of  Lawrence  J.  DeNoia,
        distinguished citizen  and  devoted  member  of  his
        community
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens  of  the  State  of New York whose lifework and civic endeavors
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Born in New York City, Lawrence J. DeNoia of Mohegan  Lake,
New York, died on December 9, 2019, at the age of 65; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Lawrence J. DeNoia distinguished himself in his profession
and by his  sincere  dedication  and  substantial  contribution  to  the
welfare of his community; and
 
  WHEREAS, Lawrence J. DeNoia received a Bachelor's degree from Lehman
College  and a Master's degree in Finance from St. John's University; in
1993, he founded his business,  Investments,  Tax  and  Insurance  (ITI)
Strategies, located in Peekskill, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Devoted to his profession, Lawrence J. DeNoia co-wrote the
book, Financial Planning for Physicians and Health  Care  Professionals;
he frequently lectured professional societies and was extremely proud to
be a member and former President of the Peekskill Rotary Club; and
 
  WHEREAS, Under his skillful leadership, Lawrence J. DeNoia served on
numerous  community  Boards  of  Directors,  including  the  Westchester
Rockland International Association of Financial Planners, the  Hope  For
Youth  Foundation,  The  Lincoln  Society, the Paramount Theater, Hudson
Valley Hospital Center, Make a Wish Foundation and the Peekskill Chamber
of Commerce; and
 
  WHEREAS, Active in his faith community, Lawrence  J.  DeNoia  was  a
Lector  and Usher at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, and a member of the
Holy Name Society; his generous heart led him to support those  in  need
through many charities and foundations; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Lawrence  J.  DeNoia  was  an  avid  golfer, a landscaping
perfectionist, and a lover of family vacations; he was  well  known  for
his sense of humor, his calm demeanor and his love of snacks (especially
a  la  mode);  he will be greatly missed by his clients, friends, family
and all who were lucky enough to have been touched by his generosity and
kindness; and
 
  WHEREAS, Lawrence J. DeNoia's  commitment  to  excellence,  and  his
spirit  of  humanity,  carried  over  into  all  fields  of  enterprise,
including charitable and civic endeavors; the humble work of this  quiet
gentleman will not soon be forgotten; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Predeceased  by his father, Anthony; Lawrence J. DeNoia is
survived by his wife, Barbara;  three  children,  Lauren,  Jessica,  and
 
Michael;   mother,   Carmela;  brother,  Joseph;  and  sister,  Patricia
(Charles); and
 
  WHEREAS,  Armed  with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Lawrence J. DeNoia leaves behind a legacy  which  will  long
endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all
he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Lawrence J. DeNoia, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the family of Lawrence J. DeNoia.
