Senate Resolution No. 2719

        CONGRATULATING the Pleasantville Girls Soccer Team
        upon  the  occasion  of capturing the New York State
        Public High  School  Athletic  Association  Class  B
        Championship
 
  WHEREAS,  Individual  and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this  Legislative  Body  commends  rare  athletic
achievements  and  pays  special  recognition  to  those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  Excellence  and  success  in  competitive  sports  can  be
achieved  only  through  strenuous  practice, team play and team spirit,
nurtured by dedicated coaching and strategic planning; and
 
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to  congratulate  the
Pleasantville  Girls  Soccer Team upon the occasion of capturing the New
York State Public High School Athletic Association Class B  Championship
on Sunday, November 17, 2019, in Cortland, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  To  the  praise  and  applause  of their excited fans, the
Panthers were able to surmount their opponents in  the  New  York  State
Championship  game  and  accomplish  the  utmost  high  school  sporting
accomplishment in this great Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS, The Pleasantville Panthers ended a very  successful  season
finishing  with  an  overall  record of 20-1-2 and capped their historic
season off with a 3-2 victory over Section  3  Champion  Central  Valley
Academy to secure the programs first Class B New York State Girls Soccer
Championship; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In a sport such as soccer, which demands athletic prowess,
speed and agility, and mental toughness, Head Coach Chris Osterhoudt and
his expert coaching staff  worked  hard  to  hone  the  skills  of  this
championship  team,  teaching  these  outstanding athletes lessons which
will prove invaluable both on and off the pitch; and
 
  WHEREAS, Coach Osterhoudt and all of the outstanding athletes on the
Pleasantville High  School  Girls  Soccer  Team  have  clearly  utilized
dedication,   determination   and   teamwork   in  providing  a  lasting
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition  of  their
school; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Pleasantville High School  Girls  Soccer
Team:  Lila Donohue, Eliza Murphy, Allison Portera, Katrina Kelly, Riley
Vavolizza,  Mary  Grace  O'Neill,  Lauren  Mathews,  Grace  Capko,  Ella
O'Malley,  Maddie Braverman, Maya Sauthoff, Julia O'Reilly, Amber Nanaj,
Maeve Roney,  Avery  Manna,  Isabelle  Kapoor,  Elsa  Ammirati,  Analese
Picart, Izzy Pepdjonovic, Katie Moses, Lauren Drillock, Lexie Rippstein,
Carolyn Lee, Summer Deluca, Norah Foley; and Head Coach Chris Osterhoudt
upon  their outstanding season and overall team record of 20-1-2; and be
it further
 
 
  RESOLVED,  That  copies  of  this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Pleasantville High School Girls Soccer
Team, and Head Coach Chris Osterhoudt.
