CONGRATULATING C. Brian Oaks upon the occasion of
his retirement after 25 years of dedicated service
as Director of Health, Physical Education and
Athletics of South Lewis Central School
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge the
significant milestones in the distinguished careers of those outstanding
educational leaders, whose dedication and achievements have been
instrumental in developing character and academic excellence in the
young people of New York State; and
WHEREAS, New York State's commitment to education is unparalleled;
its history and stature are secured by the superlative caliber of its
educational professionals and the students they inspire; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate C. Brian Oaks upon the occasion of his retirement after 25
years of dedicated service as Director of Health, Physical Education and
Athletics of South Lewis Central School; and
WHEREAS, The future success of our State and Nation is dependent
upon individuals such as C. Brian Oaks, who have dedicated their lives
as educators, nurturing our most precious resource, our youth; and
WHEREAS, After completing his undergraduate studies at The College
at Brockport State University of New York, he furthered his education by
obtaining his master's degree in administration certification at
Syracuse University; and
WHEREAS, C. Brian Oaks began his long and distinguished career in
education as both a teacher and a coach; he came to South Lewis Central
School District after serving as a physical education teacher and
athletic director at Owen D. Young Central School in Van Hornesville,
New York, an athletic director in Dansville, New York, and on the
faculty at Syracuse University; and
WHEREAS, As a leader within the school district, the region and New
York State, C. Brian Oaks will always remain a true South Lewis Falcon,
and will be greatly missed; in his well-deserved retirement, he plans to
travel with his wife, Bonnie; and
WHEREAS, C. Brian Oaks has made incomparable contributions to
empowering and improving the well-being of the students of South Lewis
Central School; he remains a source of inspiration and knowledge to all
he has befriended, educated and mentored; and
WHEREAS, Educators like C. Brian Oaks provide a tremendous service
to the future of our State and Nation, inspiring generations of young
people in their educational journeys and ensuring their success in their
future years; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his illustrious career which traversed more than
two decades, C. Brian Oaks brought an uncompromising standard of
excellence to his work and a warm sense of caring and concern to every
young person he educated; and
WHEREAS, It is the practice of this Legislative Body to commend the
efforts of those individuals who have worked to support our proud
tradition of public education by providing their skills and talents to
our schools; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate C. Brian Oaks upon the occasion of his retirement, and to
wish him continued success in all his future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to C. Brian Oaks.
