COMMEMORATING the 80th Anniversary of Grace
Furniture
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
acknowledge certain exemplary businesses which continue to provide
superior products and have become a beacon of prosperity within the
community; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Grace Furniture; and
WHEREAS, Family owned and operated for nearly a century, Grace
Furniture was established in 1940 by Frank and Stella Grace; during its
humble beginnings, the couple sold appliances and furniture out of their
two-stall garage in the same location on River Road in Marcy, New York,
where the showroom remains today; and
WHEREAS, In 1942, Grace Furniture began primarily selling furniture
to adapt to changing times as metal became scarce due to the effects of
World War II; as this exceptional business grew, the family garage
evolved into a larger building that would later be fully expanded; and
WHEREAS, Since its inception eight decades ago, Grace Furniture
continues to offer home visits to help its customers choose the right
furniture, and free delivery within the local community, as well as
locations as far as Old Forge, Rochester and Martha's Vineyard; and
WHEREAS, Today, under the able leadership of Frank and Stella's son
Bill Grace, Grace Furniture continues to hold true to its proud legacy
of providing impeccable and respectful service to each and every one of
its customers, truly making them feel as if they are part of the family;
and
WHEREAS, Over its distinguished 80-year history, Grace Furniture has
demonstrated continuous service to the residents and communities which
it serves; and
WHEREAS, The success of Grace Furniture is in direct correlation to
the efforts of its management and staff, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors on behalf of the business and the community it serves; and
WHEREAS, This auspicious occasion presents an opportunity for this
Legislative Body to recognize and pay tribute to Grace Furniture; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges the contributions of Grace Furniture to the local and State
economies, and extends its highest commendation to this family-owned and
operated enterprise, fully confident that it will continue to enjoy the
same sparkling success which has so characterized its past; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Grace Furniture; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Grace Furniture.
