Assembly Resolution No. 115

        HONORING Reverend Nirva Celestin upon the occasion
        of  her  designation  as recipient of a Lincoln-King
        Visionary Award
 
  WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies  and  serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Reverend Nirva Celestin has given not only of her time and
energies but also of her competence,  intelligence  and  leadership  and
consequently has been designated for special honor; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative  Body  is justly proud to honor Reverend
Nirva Celestin upon the occasion of her designation as  recipient  of  a
Lincoln-King  Visionary  Award  for  her  commitment  and service to her
community; she is to be honored at  the  Lincoln-King  Visionary  Awards
Gala on Saturday, March 4, 2023, in Mineola, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Reverend Nirva Celestin has been called upon to contribute
her time and talents to countless civic and charitable endeavors and has
always given of herself unstintingly; and
 
  WHEREAS, This esteemed honoree immigrated to New  York  from  Haiti,
and holds a bachelor's degree in Nursing; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Alongside  her  husband, Dr. Bishop Sem Celestin, Reverend
Nirva Celestin founded La Premiere Eglise Apocalypse  (First  Revelation
Church)  in Queens, New York, and they work to encourage their community
to build up their faith, providing radio and television ministry weekly;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Reverend Nirva Celestin is an international speaker, having
travelled to over five continents including Europe, Asia, Africa,  North
America, and South America; her and her husband created an international
outreach ministry called Christ Est la Repose; and
 
  WHEREAS,  With  her knowledge of teaching, mentoring, and nurturing,
Reverend Nirva Celestin has been impacting her  community  for  over  35
years; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Reverend  Nirva  Celestin actively volunteers for numerous
community and non-profit organizations; and
 
  WHEREAS, Throughout the entire period of her  community  service,  a
period  of  constructive  involvement, Reverend Nirva Celestin has stood
constant in dignity, good grace, and humor; and
 
  WHEREAS, With her throughout have been her husband, Dr.  Bishop  Sem
Celestin,    her    three   married   children,   their   spouses,   two
daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren, all of whom  feel  privileged
to be a part of her life and rejoice in her achievements; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Rare  indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Reverend Nirva  Celestin  has
displayed throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Reverend Nirva Celestin upon the occasion of  her  designation  as
recipient  of  a  Lincoln-King  Visionary  Award  for her commitment and
service to her community; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Reverend Nirva Celestin.
