Assembly Resolution No. 132

        HONORING  Clarence Center Preschool, Inc. upon the
        occasion of its  designation  as  recipient  of  the
        Small  Business  of  the  Year Award by the Clarence
        Chamber of Commerce on March 9, 2023
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  the
achievements   of  those  individuals  and  businesses  that  contribute
substantially to the economic vitality  of  their  communities,  thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Clarence Center Preschool, Inc. upon the occasion of its designation  as
recipient  of  the  Small  Business  of  the  Year Award by the Clarence
Chamber of Commerce, to be celebrated at its 50th Annual  Awards  Dinner
on  Thursday,  March  9, 2023, at Samuel's Grande Manor in Clarence, New
York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Clarence Center Preschool, Inc. actually began as  Clarence
Center  Child Care in September of 1992, at 5990 Goodrich Rd in Clarence
Center; in November of 1997, Jean  and  Dale  Van  Kuren  purchased  the
property  at  6260  Goodrich  Road,  and after three months of extensive
renovations, the preschool opened its doors to the public  in  March  of
1998; and
 
  WHEREAS,  At that time, Clarence Center Child Care enrolled children
ages eight weeks to three years of age; the preschool was  designed  for
children  ages  three-five  years of age with additional space for After
School care for school age children; in the Fall of 2014, the  preschool
relocated  to  its current location at the corner of Clarence Center and
Goodrich Road; and
 
  WHEREAS, Today, Clarence Center Preschool offers childcare for  ages
18  months  to  five  years  and  an after-school program for school age
children; and
 
  WHEREAS, For the last 14 years, Clarence Center Preschool  has  been
one  of the preschool programs that offer two Universal Pre-Kindergarten
programs through the Clarence School District for 4-year-olds; and
 
  WHEREAS, The success of  Clarence  Center  Preschool  is  in  direct
correlation  to  the  efforts  of its owners Jean and Dale Van Kuren and
their staff, whose involvement is, and always has been, characterized by
an impressive commitment, an unbridled enthusiasm, and an uncompromising
standard of excellence in all endeavors on behalf of the institution and
the community it serves; and
 
  WHEREAS, It is  with  great  pleasure  that  this  Legislative  Body
acknowledges  the  Clarence  Center  Preschool's success, recognizes its
contributions to the local and State economies, and extends its  highest
commendation to the business and its employees, fully confident that, in
its  future,  it  will enjoy the same success which has so characterized
its past; now, therefore, be it
 
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor  Clarence  Center  Preschool,  Inc.  upon  the  occasion  of   its
designation  as recipient of the Small Business of the Year Award by the
Clarence Chamber of Commerce on March 9, 2023; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted  to  Jean  and  Dale  Van  Kuren,  Owners,  Clarence  Center
Preschool, Inc.
