Senate Resolution No. 1794
 
BY: Senator GALLIVAN
 
        HONORING   Buffa-Blo  upon  the  occasion  of  its
        designation as recipient of the New  Small  Business
        Award  by  the Clarence Chamber of Commerce on March
        21, 2024
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  and
commend  those distinguished individuals and businesses which contribute
substantially to the economic vitality  of  their  communities,  thereby
enhancing the economic well-being of the entire Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Buffa-Blo upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of  the  New
Small  Business  Award  by  the  Clarence  Chamber  of  Commerce,  to be
celebrated at its Annual Awards Gala on Thursday,  March  21,  2024,  at
Samuel's Grande Manor in Clarence, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Buffa-Blo was nominated for this prestigious award for its
steadfast  and  unremitting  commitment  to  its  beloved  community  of
Clarence Center, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Buffa-Blo was formed in 2022 with father and son duo, Chris
and  Brendan  Cimerman of Clarence, New York, becoming business partners
with an idea thought up around the dinner table; and
 
  WHEREAS, The company, Buffa-Blo, designs, develops, and  distributes
Buffalo-themed  inflatable  decor,  allowing  citizens  of  Buffalo  and
Western New York to display their great amounts of Buffalo pride; and
 
  WHEREAS, Chris Cimerman,  with  30+  years  of  product  development
experience  under  his  belt,  along with his son, Brendan Cimerman, who
holds a degree  in  finance  from  Buffalo  State  College,  have  grown
Buffa-Blo exponentially over the course of its inception to present day;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attending Lavocats Nursery's Pop-up Business event in late
2022, with two prototypes and a 3-ring binder to take  pre-orders,  they
made  16  sales,  and by the following Friday, they had sold all the 600
pieces of inventory they initially ordered; and
 
  WHEREAS, Buffa-Blo now has 13 different designs and sizes available,
have shipped to all 50 states along with other countries such as Canada,
the U.K., and Germany, and  have  been  seen  all  around  the  city  of
Buffalo,  even  on  the  tops of cars at tailgates; designing the sizes,
patterns, and shapes,  finding  more  than  one  manufacturer,  building
prototypes, managing logistics with a shipping partner, and developing a
marketing  strategy  takes patience and much attention to details; these
endeavors are justly paying off for the Cimerman duo as they  experience
true  growth  and  success  and  rightly  serve  as  role  models to all
entrepreneurs across this Great State and Nation; and
 
  WHEREAS, Buffa-Blo currently has received received a trademark  from
the  U.S. Patent Office for their business and have copyright protection
 
on their designs, a testament to their creativity, dedication, and  hard
work; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Buffa-Blo  plans  to  continue  to launch more products in
upcoming years  and  will  continue  to  attend  various  local  events,
continuing  their  learning and community support every step of the way;
and
 
  WHEREAS, In true selflessness, Chris and Brendan Cimerman also  have
several   charitable  ideas  in  the  works  to  further  support  local
organizations; and
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative  Body  that  those  who
enhance  the well-being and vitality of their community and have shown a
long and sustained commitment to excellence certainly  have  earned  the
recognition and applause of all the citizens of this great Empire State;
now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Buffa-Blo upon the occasion of its designation as recipient of the
New Small Business of the Year Award by the Clarence Chamber of Commerce
on March 21, 2024; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Chris and Brendan Cimerman, founders of Buffa-Blo.
