CONGRATULATING Francis L. Crumb upon the occasion
of being honored for more than 30 years of
distinguished public service to the Village of
Holland Patent, New York
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body seeks to acknowledge those
individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York and takes great pride in
recognizing and applauding those individuals who have distinguished
themselves through their service to their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Francis L. Crumb upon the occasion of being honored for
more than 30 years of distinguished public service to be celebrated at a
special Ceremony in Holland Patent, New York, on Tuesday, April 23,
2024; and
WHEREAS, After graduation from the University of Notre Dame in 1967,
Francis L. Crumb served his country in the United States Army, working
at the Pentagon, from 1967-1969; and
WHEREAS, From 1969-1984, Francis L. Crumb worked as a reporter and
photographer for the Utica Observer-Dispatch newspaper; for
approximately 13 years, he worked in the Army Reserve's medical unit in
Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, From 1984-2007, Francis L. Crumb was employed as the Chief
of Public Affairs for the Rome Laboratory (RADC) prior to retiring;
however, he continues serving his community; and
WHEREAS, For more than 30 years, Francis L. Crumb rendered faithful,
conscientious, and valuable service to the residents of Holland Patent;
during his tenure, he has served as a Village Trustee as well as Public
Safety Commissioner; and
WHEREAS, For the residents of Holland Patent, Francis L. Crumb was
instrumental in the provision of a public sewer system and natural gas;
additionally, in conjunction with the Mohawk Valley Water Authority, he
played a part in the upgrade of Holland Patent's clean water system; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as a public servant, Francis L. Crumb
served with loyalty, honor, and distinction; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Francis L. Crumb was governed by a
keen sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems,
providing essential services to members of his community; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure with Holland Patent, Francis L. Crumb
earned the admiration, esteem, and affection of his colleagues; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Francis L. Crumb upon the occasion of being honored for
more than 30 years of distinguished public service to the Village of
Holland Patent, New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Francis L. Crumb.
