        AN ACT authorizing the commissioner  of  environmental  conservation  to
          undertake  projects  to protect national historic landmarks from shore
          erosion
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the
     2  commissioner of environmental conservation shall also be  authorized  to
     3  undertake any project to protect a national historic landmark, as desig-
     4  nated  by  the  United  States  Secretary  of  the  Interior, from shore
     5  erosion.
     6    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
