        Introduced  by  Sen.  LARKIN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
        AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in  relation  to  mandatory
          suspension  of  driver's  licenses  for  conviction of insurance fraud
          related to the ownership or use of a motor vehicle
 

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1. Paragraph b of subdivision 2 of section 510 of the vehicle
     2  and traffic law is amended by adding a new subparagraph (xvi) to read as
     3  follows:
     4    (xvi) where the holder is convicted of, or receives a youthful  offen-
     5  der  or juvenile delinquency adjudication as follows: in connection with
     6  a violation of section 176.10 of  the  penal  law  when  such  violation
     7  relates to a policy of insurance insuring a natural person against loss-
     8  es  or  liabilities  arising out of the ownership, operation or use of a
     9  motor vehicle, for a period of one month; in connection with a violation
    10  of section 176.15 of the penal law when  such  violation  relates  to  a

    11  policy  of insurance insuring a natural person against losses or liabil-
    12  ities arising out of the ownership, operation or use of a motor vehicle,
    13  for a period of two months; in connection with a  violation  of  section
    14  176.20  of  the  penal  law  when  such violation relates to a policy of
    15  insurance insuring a natural person against losses or liabilities  aris-
    16  ing  out  of  the  ownership, operation or use of a motor vehicle, for a
    17  period of four months; in connection with a violation of section  176.25
    18  of  the  penal  law when such violation relates to a policy of insurance
    19  insuring a natural person against losses or liabilities arising  out  of
    20  the  ownership, operation or use of a motor vehicle, for a period of six

    21  months; in connection with a violation of section 176.30  of  the  penal
    22  law  when  such  violation  relates  to a policy of insurance insuring a
    23  natural person against losses or liabilities arising out of  the  owner-
    24  ship, operation or use of a motor vehicle, for a period of eight months;

     1  in  connection  with a violation of section 176.35 of the penal law when
     2  such violation relates to a  policy  of  insurance  insuring  a  natural

     3  person against losses or liabilities arising out of the ownership, oper-
     4  ation or use of a motor vehicle, for a period of ten months.
     5    § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed-
     6  ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
