AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to the
issuance of deer management permits for certain service-connected
disabled veterans
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Paragraph b of subdivision 1 of section 11-0913 of the
2 environmental conservation law, as amended by section 46 of part F of
3 chapter 82 of the laws of 2002, is amended to read as follows:
4 b. In the issuance of permits, the department may give preference to
5 resident license holders and may give preference to service-connected
6 disabled veterans having 40 percent or greater service-connected disa-
7 bility as evidenced by a compensation rating from the United States
8 Department of Veterans Affairs or the United States Department of
9 Defense who shall only have to provide proof of service-connected disa-
10 bility at the time of initial issuance of the permit, and to the appli-
11 cations of groups which include a person or the spouse of a person,
12 provided that such spouse lives in the same household, who owns at least
13 50 acres of land in one parcel in the specified area.
14 § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall
15 have become a law; provided, however, that effective immediately, the
16 addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary
