        Introduced  by  Sen.  ORTT  --  read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Crime Victims,  Crime  and
          Correction
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  correction  law, in relation to requiring state
          reimbursement for costs incurred by counties when holding  individuals
          on parole violations

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The correction law is amended by adding a new section 96 to
     2  read as follows:
     3    § 96. County reimbursement for certain detention costs.   Expenditures
     4  made by counties in providing care, maintenance and supervision to paro-
     5  lees  in detention facilities being held for technical parole violations
     6  pending a hearing  with  their  parole  officer,  shall  be  subject  to
     7  reimbursement by the state.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
