        Introduced  by  Sen.  MARCELLINO  -- read twice and ordered printed, and
          when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
 
        AN ACT to amend the education law,  in  relation  to  including  special
          education  expenditures  in the regents' annual report to the governor
          and the legislature

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  Section 215-a of the education law is amended by adding a
     2  new subdivision 3 to read as follows:
     3    3. The annual report required pursuant  to  subdivision  one  of  this
     4  section  shall  include a statement setting forth the total expenditures
     5  made by each school  district  and  boards  of  cooperative  educational
     6  services  for  special education. Such statement shall indicate: (a) the
     7  amount of such expenditures covered by state aid; (b) the amount of such
     8  expenditures covered by federal aid; and (c) the amount of such expendi-
     9  tures not covered by either state or federal aid.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
