        Introduced  by  Sen.  DUANE  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Housing, Construction  and
          Community Development
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  multiple  dwelling law, in relation to mosquito
          control and to repeal section 1503 of the public health  law  relating
          thereto
 

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The multiple dwelling  law  is  amended  by  adding  a  new
     2  section 85 to read as follows:
     3    §  85.  Mosquito  control. The owner of every multiple dwelling, where
     4  such dwelling is in a city with a population of  one  million  or  more,
     5  shall  comply  with  all  state and local laws, ordinances, rules, regu-
     6  lations, and resolutions for  the  control  of  mosquitos  and  mosquito
     7  larvae pursuant to article fifteen of the public health law.
     8    § 2. Section 1503 of the public health law is REPEALED.
     9    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately; provided that any rule or
    10  regulation  necessary for the implementation of this act, or any section

    11  of this act, is authorized and directed to be made and completed  within
    12  60 days after the date on which this act shall have become a law.
          REPEAL  NOTE.--Section  1503  of  the  public  health law, repealed by
        section two of this act, establishes exemptions for the city of New York
        from the requirements of sections 1500, 1501, and  1502  of  the  public
        health law for municipal insect control.
