        Introduced  by  Sen.  COMRIE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on  Energy  and  Telecommuni-
          cations
 
        AN  ACT  mandating  that the public service commission examine a process
          for streamlining actions relating to identifying and removing  certain
          utility poles

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The public service commission shall initiate  a  proceeding
     2  to  examine  a  process for streamlining actions relating to identifying
     3  and removing utility poles that do not have any attachments and  are  no
     4  longer  in  use.    Every pole owner shall submit information related to
     5  such poles and other relevant information at the request of  the  public
     6  service  commission. On or before September 30, 2024, the public service
     7  commission shall issue an order adopting the new or revised rules  asso-
     8  ciated  with the matters examined in the proceeding provided for in this
     9  act.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
