        Introduced  by  Sen.  YOUNG  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern-
          ment Operations
 
        AN ACT to amend the tax law, in relation to authorizing  the  county  of
          Chautauqua  to  elect to be exempt from certain taxes related to E-911
          reflective house numbers
 

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  The  tax law is amended by adding a new section 1115-a to
     2  read as follows:
     3    § 1115-a. County of Chautauqua optional exemption from sales  and  use
     4  taxes for the purchase of E-911 reflective house numbers.  Notwithstand-
     5  ing any other provision of law to the contrary, the county of Chautauqua
     6  may  elect  by local law, for a period of time to be established by such
     7  county, for receipts for E-911 reflective house  numbers  to  be  exempt
     8  from  the  tax  on retail sales imposed under subdivision (a) of section
     9  eleven hundred five of this article and the compensating use tax imposed

    10  under section eleven hundred ten of this article, as well as tax imposed
    11  pursuant to section twelve hundred ten of this article.
    12    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
