        Introduced  by  Sen.  PARKER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on  Energy  and  Telecommuni-
          cations
 
        AN  ACT  directing  the  study of the future implementation of fifth and
          future generation wireless network system technology in the state

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.  The office of information technology services shall study
     2  and evaluate the implementation of  fifth  generation  (5G)  and  future
     3  generation wireless systems technology in the state.
     4    §  2. No later than one year after the effective date of this act, the
     5  office of information technology services shall submit to  the  governor
     6  and  the  legislature  a  report  on  5G  technology, as described under
     7  section one of this act.
     8    § 3. The office of information technology services shall evaluate such
     9  data with the assistance of experts in:
    10    a. wireless technology;
    11    b. network capacity;
    12    c. cyber security; and
    13    d. internet speed.
    14    § 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
