        Introduced  by  Sens. BONACIC, SAVINO -- read twice and ordered printed,
          and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Labor
 
        AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to enacting "Joanne's law"
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Short  title. This act shall be known and may be cited as
     2  "Joanne's law".
     3    § 2. The labor law is amended by adding a new section 44  to  read  as
     4  follows:
     5    §  44. Notification of actions of crime perpetrators. The correctional
     6  or probational authorities having  jurisdiction  of  a  person  who  has
     7  committed  a  crime  in  a  workplace shall notify the workplace if such
     8  person is released from incarceration or has violated the provisions  of
     9  his or her probation or parole.
    10    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
