        Introduced  by  Sen.  GOLDEN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes
 
        AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation  to  designating
          police officers of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs as
          peace officers
 

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 21 of section 2.15 of  the  criminal  procedure
     2  law,  as added by chapter 549 of the laws of 1997, is amended to read as
     3  follows:
     4    21. United States  Department  of  Veterans  [Administration]  Affairs
     5  police  officers [employed at the Veterans Administration Medical Center
     6  in Batavia].
     7    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
