Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 2176 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN SENATE January 19, 2023 ___________ Introduced by Sen. O'MARA -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to requiring the division of state police to send renewal notices to holders of a license to carry or possess a pistol or revolver before expiration of such license The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 10 of section 400.00 of the penal law is 2 amended by adding a new paragraph (e) to read as follows: 3 (e) The division of state police shall keep a record of the dates of 4 expiration for all licenses to carry or possess a pistol or revolver 5 issued under this section, and shall send a notice to each such license 6 holder at least ninety days before the expiration of such license so 7 that such license holder may submit an application to renew such license 8 in a timely manner. 9 § 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall 10 have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted. LBD05446-01-3
