        Introduced  by  Sen.  CLEARE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes
 
        AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to  manufacturers'
          reporting requirements for the sale or distribution of firearms
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
     2  898-f to read as follows:
     3    § 898-f. Firearms; manufacturer reporting requirements.  Manufacturers
     4  who sell or distribute firearms  in  this  state  shall  report  to  the
     5  department  of  criminal  justice  services  the number of firearms they
     6  manufacture and sell on an annual basis. "Firearm" has the same  meaning
     7  as  such  term  is defined in subdivision three of section 265.00 of the
     8  penal law.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
