        Introduced  by  Sens.  DIAZ,  ADAMS,  DUANE,  HASSELL-THOMPSON, HUNTLEY,
          KRUEGER, OPPENHEIMER, SAMPSON, SAVINO -- read twice and ordered print-
          ed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
 
        AN ACT to amend the education law, in relation to requiring the  commis-
          sioner of education to promulgate rules and regulations requiring that

          all students in grade five or below remain at their school unless they
          are  under  the  supervision of authorized transportation, a parent or
          guardian or another authorized person
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 305 of the education law is amended by adding a new
     2  subdivision 42 to read as follows:
     3    42.  The  commissioner  is authorized and directed to promulgate rules
     4  and regulations which require that all students who are in grade five or
     5  below and who are attending school on a particular day shall  remain  at
     6  their  school building unless they are released under the supervision of
     7  authorized transportation, a parent or guardian  or  another  authorized
     8  person.

     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
