AN ACT relating to resuming the play of school musical/theatrical
performances during the COVID-19 pandemic and requiring safety proto-
cols to be put in place to enable safe play of such school
musical/theatrical performances
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law, rule or regulation
2 to the contrary, the commissioner of education shall immediately author-
3 ize the practice and play of all school musical/theatrical performances
4 which have been postponed or cancelled due to COVID-19. The commission-
5 er of education, in consultation with the commissioner of health, shall
6 adopt necessary rules and regulations and provide a process and proce-
7 dure to ensure that proper COVID-19 safety protocols are followed to
8 enable the safe play of such school musical/theatrical performances.
9 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
