        Introduced  by  Sen.  KRUGER  --  (at request of the State Commission on
          Public Integrity) -- read twice and ordered printed, and when  printed
          to be committed to the Committee on Finance
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  public officers law, in relation to prohibiting
          elected officials, state officers or employees, members of the  legis-

          lature and legislative employees from supervising a relative
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 14 of section 73 of the public
     2  officers law, as added by chapter 14 of the laws of 2007, is amended  to
     3  read as follows:
     4    (a)  No  statewide elected official, state officer or employee, member
     5  of the legislature or legislative employee may participate in any  deci-
     6  sion  to  hire,  promote,  discipline  or  discharge  a relative for any
     7  compensated position at, for or within any state agency, public authori-
     8  ty or the legislature, or supervise a relative in the performance of his
     9  or her official duties.
    10    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
