        Introduced  by  Sen.  GOLDEN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern-
          ment Operations
 
        AN ACT to amend the public officers law, in relation to the residence of
          peace officers employed as associate urban park rangers by a city with
          a population over one million
 

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section 3-b of the public officers law, as
     2  added by chapter 480 of the laws of 2010, is amended to read as follows:
     3    3.  Neither  the provisions of this section or of any general, special
     4  or local law, charter, code, ordinance, resolution, rule or  regulation,
     5  requiring  a  person  to  be  a resident of the political subdivision or
     6  municipal corporation of the state by which he or she is employed, shall
     7  apply to a person employed by a city with a population over one  million
     8  in the titles of urban park ranger, associate urban park ranger or traf-
     9  fic  enforcement  agent  level IV, provided that he or she has completed
    10  two years of employment with the city of New York and is a  resident  of

    11  New  York, Kings, Queens, Bronx, Richmond, Nassau, Westchester, Suffolk,
    12  Orange, Rockland or Putnam county.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
