AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of
the state highway system in Ulster county as the "Officer Gary Pietro-
paolo Memorial Highway"
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-l to
2 read as follows:
3 § 344-l. Portion of the state highway system to be designated as the
4 "Officer Gary Pietropaolo Memorial Highway". All that portion of the
5 state highway system, constituting state route two hundred eight from
6 its intersection with Southside Avenue to its intersection with Hawk
7 Drive, in the town of New Paltz, county of Ulster, shall be designated
8 and known as the "Officer Gary Pietropaolo Memorial Highway".
9 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-
10 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system
11 as designated pursuant to section one of this act; provided that, to
12 avoid any confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce,
13 the designation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be
14 one of ceremonial nature and the official name of such highway shall not
15 be changed as a result of this act.
16 § 3. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
17 have become a law.
