Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 5507 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN SENATE April 4, 2017 ___________ Introduced by Sen. HELMING -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation to granting uniformed marine patrol officers in Seneca county peace officer status The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 84 to read as follows: 3 84. Employees appointed by the sheriff of Seneca county, when acting 4 pursuant to their special duties serving as uniformed marine patrol 5 officers; provided, however that nothing in this subdivision shall be 6 deemed to authorize such officer to carry, possess, repair or dispose of 7 a firearm unless the appropriate license has been issued pursuant to 8 section 400.00 of the penal law or to authorize such officer to carry or 9 possess a firearm except while on duty. 10 § 2.
