        Introduced  by Sens. HUNTLEY, BRESLIN, DUANE, DeFRANCISCO, DIAZ, GOLDEN,
          HASSELL-THOMPSON, C. JOHNSON, MAZIARZ, MONTGOMERY,  MORAHAN,  ONORATO,
          THOMPSON  --  (at  request  of the Governor) -- read twice and ordered
          printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee  on  Mental
          Health and Developmental Disabilities
 

        AN  ACT  to  amend  chapter 748 of the laws of 2006, enacting "Timothy's
          law", in relation to eliminating the expiration and repeal thereof
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.    Section  8 of chapter 748 of the laws of 2006, enacting
     2  "Timothy's law", is amended to read as follows:
     3    § 8. This act shall take effect on the first of January next  succeed-
     4  ing  the  date on which it shall have become a law [and shall expire and
     5  be deemed repealed December 31, 2009]; and the provisions  of  this  act
     6  shall apply to policies and contracts issued, renewed, modified, altered
     7  or amended on or after such effective date.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
