        Introduced  by  Sen.  ROBACH -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Health
 
        AN ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to the  creation  and
          disbursement of addiction treatment educational materials
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The public health law is amended by adding  a  new  section
     2  3309-b to read as follows:
     3    §  3309-b.  Addiction  treatment educational materials. 1. The commis-
     4  sioner  shall  create  and/or  utilize  existing  educational  materials
     5  regarding addiction treatment and treatment resources that are available
     6  through  the  department.  Such  educational  materials may include, but
     7  shall not be limited to, pamphlets, leaflets and brochures.
     8    2. The department shall make such educational materials  available  to
     9  all hospitals and physicians within the state.
    10    3.  Every hospital and physician shall then distribute the educational
    11  materials to all patients being treated for a controlled substance over-
    12  dose by such hospital or physician.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth  day  after  it  shall
    14  have become a law.
