        Introduced  by  Sen.  OPPENHEIMER -- read twice and ordered printed, and
          when printed to be committed to the Committee on Codes
 
        AN ACT to amend the criminal procedure law, in relation  to  designating
          court attendants in the village of Port Chester as peace officers
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-

        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 2.10 of the criminal procedure law  is  amended  by
     2  adding a new subdivision 83 to read as follows:
     3    83.  Employees of the village of Port Chester serving as court attend-
     4  ants at the village of Port Chester court  facilities,  when  performing
     5  their  duties  as  court  attendants; provided, however, that nothing in
     6  this subdivision shall be deemed to authorize  such  officer  to  carry,
     7  possess,  repair  or dispose of a firearm unless the appropriate license
     8  therefor has been issued pursuant to section 400.00 of the penal law.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
