          to the Committee on Education
 
        AN ACT in relation to state aid for the Saranac central school district
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Notwithstanding the fact that the  Saranac  central  school
     2  district  was  in session for less than 180 days in the 2014-2015 school
     3  year, due to no fault of its  own,  the  commissioner  of  education  is
     4  authorized  to disregard the reduction of state aid required pursuant to
     5  section 3604 of the education law and shall pay such school district its
     6  apportionment as if the school district had  been  in  session  for  the
     7  required 180 days.
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
