        Introduced  by  Sen. HOYLMAN -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Labor
 
        AN ACT to amend the labor law, in relation to extending the  statute  of
          limitations relating to a civil action by an employee who has been the
          subject of a retaliatory personnel action

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subdivision 4 of section 740 of the  labor
     2  law,  as added by chapter 660 of the laws of 1984, is amended to read as
     3  follows:
     4    (a) An employee who has been the subject of  a  retaliatory  personnel
     5  action  in  violation  of this section may institute a civil action in a
     6  court of competent jurisdiction for relief as set forth  in  subdivision
     7  five  of  this  section  within  [one  year] two years after the alleged
     8  retaliatory personnel action was taken.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
