        Introduced  by  Sen. HELMING -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Investigations and Govern-
          ment Operations
 
        AN ACT to amend the alcoholic beverage control law, in relation to  wine
          products
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 36-a of section 3  of  the  alcoholic  beverage
     2  control  law,  as amended by chapter 135 of the laws of 1985, is amended
     3  to read as follows:
     4    36-a. "Wine product" means a beverage  containing  wine  to  which  is
     5  added  concentrated  or unconcentrated juice, flavoring material, water,
     6  citric acid, sugar and carbon dioxide and containing not more  than  six
     7  per  centum alcohol by volume, to which nothing other than such wine has
     8  been added to increase the alcoholic content  of  such  beverage;  or  a
     9  beverage  containing wine which has undergone an alcohol reduction proc-
    10  ess including but not limited to nanofiltration, reverse osmosis, osmot-
    11  ic distillation, vacuum distillation, spinning cone column, or through a
    12  multi-stage membrane-based system.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
