        Introduced  by  Sen. PERSAUD -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation
 
        AN ACT in relation to requiring the commissioner of  motor  vehicles  to
          provide information on motor vehicle manufacturer safety recalls
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The commissioner of motor vehicles  shall  publish  on  the
     2  department  of  motor vehicles' website information to assist persons in
     3  determining whether a safety recall has been issued  on  motor  vehicles
     4  and  related  equipment, child safety seats, or tires, including but not
     5  limited to providing and displaying a hyperlink to the National  Highway
     6  Traffic  Safety  Administration's  safety issues and recall page, on the
     7  homepage of the department of motor vehicles' website in  a  conspicuous
     8  manner.
     9    §  2. This act shall take effect one year after it shall have become a
