Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 6496 2021-2022 Regular Sessions IN SENATE May 3, 2021 ___________ Introduced by Sen. GOUNARDES -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Elections AN ACT to amend the New York city charter, in relation to requiring the board of elections in the city of New York to release certain data relating to ranked choice elections The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision f of section 1057-g of the New York city char- 2 ter is amended by adding a new paragraph 3 to read as follows: 3 3. When making the statement of results of a ranked choice election 4 pursuant to section 9-126 or 9-210 of the election law, the board of 5 elections in the city of New York shall release data on how voters 6 ranked all candidates, even if a single candidate received a majority of 7 highest rank votes and the tabulation process as described in paragraph 8 two of subdivision e of this section was not triggered. 9 § 2.
