AN ACT to amend the vehicle and traffic law, in relation to motor vehi-
cle repair shop exclusions
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Paragraph (d) of subdivision 2 of section 398-b of the
2 vehicle and traffic law, as amended by chapter 212 of the laws of 1980,
3 is amended and a new paragraph (e) is added to read as follows:
4 (d) any person solely engaged in the business of repairing farm or
5 road building machines, or such other utility vehicles as the commis-
6 sioner may by regulation designate[.]; or
7 (e) any person or entity whose activities primarily consist of restor-
8 ing, rebuilding or customizing specialty motor vehicles or motor vehi-
9 cles at least twenty-five years old.
10 § 2. This act shall take effect on the sixtieth day after it shall
11 have become a law.
