        Introduced  by  Sen.  YOUNG  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
        AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to the Purple Heart Highway
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1. Section 342-x of the highway law, as amended by chapter 49
     2  of the laws of 1992, is amended to read as follows:
     3    § 342-x. Portion of the state highway system to be designated  as  the
     4  "Purple Heart Highway". That portion of the state highway system consti-
     5  tuting  [Route  5 excepting therefrom that portion of such route hereto-
     6  fore designated as the "Seaway Trail"] state route five shall  hereafter
     7  be designated and known as the "Purple Heart Highway".
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
