        Introduced  by Sen. CARLUCCI -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Local Government
 
        AN ACT to authorize the commissioner of general services to transfer and
          convey certain land to the Thiells-Roseville fire district
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 

     1    Section  1.  Subject to provisions of this act but notwithstanding any
     2  other provision of law to the  contrary,  the  commissioner  of  general
     3  services  is  hereby  authorized  to transfer and convey to the Thiells-
     4  Roseville Fire District in consideration of one  dollar  and  upon  such
     5  other  conditions as the commissioner may deem proper, approximately 1.2
     6  acres of that land that were  part  of  the  former  Letchworth  Village
     7  Hospital  and  is owned by the Office of People with Developmental Disa-
     8  bilities.
     9    § 2. The lands authorized by this act to be transferred  and  conveyed
    10  are as follows:
    11    ALL  that  certain  piece  or parcel of land, situate in the Hamlet of
    12  Thiells, in the Town of Haverstraw, County of  Rockland,  State  of  New
    13  York, being more particularly bound and described as follows:

    14  The  parcel  is  approximately  1.2  acres and lies on the southeasterly
    15  corner of that land known and described as Section  19.16  Block  1  and
    16  part  of  lot  14  on  the  Town  of  Haverstraw  Tax Map. The parcel is
    17  described as follows: running approximately from a "rebar  set"  in  the
    18  southeasterly corner of the aforementioned property running in southwes-
    19  terly direction approximately 185 feet running thence in a northwesterly
    20  direction  approximately  289  feet  running  thence  in a northeasterly
    21  direction 185.07 feet and running thence in  a  northeasterly  direction
    22  289.62 feet to the point or place of the beginning.
    23    §  3.  The  description  in  section two of this act of the land to be
    24  conveyed is not intended to be a legal description but  is  intended  to
    25  identify  the parcel to be conveyed. As a condition of the purchase, the

    26  Thiells-Roseville Fire District shall  submit  to  the  commissioner  of
    27  general  services,  for  his  or  her  approval,  an accurate survey and

     1  description of the lands to be  conveyed,  which  may  be  used  in  the
     2  conveyance thereof.
     3    §  4.  The office of general services shall not transfer or convey the
     4  aforesaid land unless application  is  made  by  Thiells-Roseville  Fire
     5  District within 1 year after the effective date of this act.
     6    §  5.  Any lands transferred pursuant to this act shall be used exclu-

     7  sively for the  purposes  of  the  Thiells-Roseville  Fire  District  to
     8  construct  a  fire  district substation and upon termination of such use
     9  title to the lands so transferred shall revert to the State of New York.
    10    § 6. This act shall take effect immediately.
