        Introduced  by  Sen. HELMING -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
          printed to be committed to the Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism,

        AN ACT to amend the navigation law, in relation  to  the  regulation  of
          vessels
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 46-a of  the  navigation  law,  as
     2  amended  by  chapter  278  of  the  laws  of 2011, is amended to read as
     3  follows:
     4    (2) The local legislative body of the village of Sodus Point  and  the
     5  town  of  Huron in the county of Wayne, the villages of Croton-on-Hudson
     6  and Mamaroneck and the town of Cortlandt in the county  of  Westchester,
     7  the  town  of  Stony  Point in the county of Rockland, the town of Grand
     8  Island in the county of Erie, the towns of Conesus,  Geneseo,  Groveland
     9  and  Livonia  in  the  county  of  Livingston, the towns of Irondequoit,
    10  Webster, and Penfield in the county of Monroe, the village of  Greenwood
    11  Lake  and the town of Warwick in the county of Orange, the town of Carl-
    12  ton in the county of Orleans, the village of Sackets Harbor in the coun-
    13  ty of Jefferson, and the villages of Union Springs,  Aurora  and  Cayuga
    14  and  the towns of Genoa and Ledyard in the county of Cayuga, the town of
    15  Ithaca in the county of Tompkins, the city of Kingston and  the  village
    16  of  Saugerties  in  the  county  of Ulster and the town of Porter in the
    17  county of Niagara, [and] the village of North Haven  in  the  county  of
    18  Suffolk, and the towns of Fayette and Varick in the county of Seneca may
    19  adopt,  amend  and  enforce local laws, rules and regulations not incon-
    20  sistent with the laws of this state or the United States,  with  respect
    21  to  the  restriction  and  regulation  of the manner of construction and
    22  location of boathouses, moorings and  docks  in  any  waters  within  or
    23  bounding  the  respective  municipality to a distance of fifteen hundred
    24  feet from the shoreline.
    25    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
