AN ACT to amend chapter 667 of the laws of 1868, relating to enabling
Conrad Poppenhusen to found an institution in the village of College
Point, in relation to clarifying the name of such institution
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 2 of chapter 667 of the laws of 1868 is amended to
2 read as follows:
3 § 2. Conrad Poppenhusen and his assigns shall be and hereby are
4 constituted a body corporate, by the name and title of the "[The] Conrad
5 Poppenhusen Association[, for the advancement of knowledge, and the
6 improvement of the moral and social condition of the working classes,]"
7 and its corporate existence shall commence when the said Conrad Poppen-
8 husen shall convey or devise to it the lands above mentioned, and the
9 sum of one hundred thousand dollars.
10 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
