        Introduced  by Sen. SCARCELLA-SPANTON -- read twice and ordered printed,
          and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules
 
        AN ACT to amend the cannabis law, in  relation  to  the  state  cannabis
          advisory board
 
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 14 of the cannabis law is  amended
     2  to read as follows:
     3    2.  The state cannabis advisory board shall consist of thirteen voting
     4  appointed members, along with a representative from  the  department  of
     5  environmental  conservation,  the department of agriculture and markets,
     6  the office of children and family services, the department of labor, the
     7  department of health, the division of housing and community renewal, the
     8  office of addiction services  and  supports,  [and]  the  department  of
     9  education,  and  the  division  of  service-disabled  veterans' business
    10  development, serving as non-voting ex-officio  members.    The  governor
    11  shall have seven appointments, the temporary president of the senate and
    12  the  speaker  of  the assembly shall each have three appointments to the
    13  board.  The members shall be appointed to each serve  three  year  terms
    14  and in the event of a vacancy, the vacancy shall be filled in the manner
    15  of the original appointment for the remainder of the term. The appointed
    16  members  and  representatives  shall  receive  no compensation for their
    17  services but shall  be  allowed  their  actual  and  necessary  expenses
    18  incurred in the performance of their duties as board members.
    19    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
