Go to top STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8720 IN SENATE July 10, 2020 ___________ Introduced by Sen. SAVINO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to making behav- ioral health care within nursing homes provided by licensed clinical social workers eligible for coverage under the Medicaid program The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 2 of section 365-a of the social services law 2 is amended by adding a new paragraph (gg) to read as follows: 3 (gg) behavioral health care within nursing homes as defined by article 4 twenty-eight of the public health law and provided by clinical social 5 workers licensed pursuant to article one hundred fifty-four of the 6 education law acting within their scope of practice, where such services 7 would otherwise be covered under this title. 8 § 2. This act shall take effect on April 1, 2021. EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [] is old law to be omitted. LBD16521-02-0
