AN ACT to authorize Edward P. Ackley to take the competitive civil
service examination and be placed on the eligible civil service list
for employment as a full-time police officer for the village of Hudson
Falls
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil
2 service law, or any other provision of law to the contrary, Edward P.
3 Ackley employed by the village of Hudson Falls, in the county of Wash-
4 ington, as a part-time police officer, shall be eligible to take the
5 competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer
6 and shall, contingent upon his score on such examination, be eligible to
7 be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police
8 officer for the village of Hudson Falls.
9 Edward P. Ackley shall otherwise be subject to the merit and fitness
10 provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police offi-
11 cers.
12 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
