NIOU -- read once and referred to the Committee on Election Law -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to candidate declination The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 6-146 of the election law is amended by adding a 2 new subdivision 6 to read as follows: 3 6. A person designated as a candidate for two or more party nomi- 4 nations for an office to be filled at the time of a general election who 5 is not nominated at a primary election by one or more such parties may 6 decline the nomination of one or more parties not later than ten days 7 after the primary election. 8 § 2.
