EPSTEIN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Corporations, Authorities and Commissions AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to prohibiting the metropolitan transportation authority from promulgating rules or regulations that penalize a student for using a student MetroCard when school is not in session The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 1266 of the public authorities law is amended by 2 adding a new subdivision 20 to read as follows: 3 20. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the authority and any 4 of its subsidiary corporations shall not promulgate any rules or regu- 5 lations that penalize any student for using any card or other fare media 6 issued by the city school district for the city of New York for trans- 7 portation purposes on any day when school is not in session. 8 § 2.
