        Introduced by M. of A. K. BROWN -- read once and referred to the Commit-
          tee on Tourism, Parks, Arts and Sports Development
 
        AN  ACT  to  amend  the  general  business law, in relation to requiring
          members of a boat club complete a boating safety course
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section
     2  398-g to read as follows:
     3    §  398-g.  Boat  clubs.  1.  For the purposes of this section, a "boat
     4  club" shall mean any marina or  other  business  or  installation  which
     5  provides  for  the launching, mooring, docking or operating any craft or
     6  permits such launching, mooring, docking or operating.
     7    2. All owners, operators, employees, customers  and  persons  using  a
     8  boat  club  shall  successfully  complete  a  boating  safety  course or
     9  advanced boating safety course pursuant to section seventy-eight of  the
    10  navigation law.
    11    §  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
    12  have become a law.
