HONORING Virginia Mulhall upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Liberty Bell Award
by the Washington County Bar Association
WHEREAS, From time to time, this Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals it wishes to recognize for their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Virginia
Mulhall upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the Liberty
Bell Award by the Washington County Bar Association on May 1, 2024, in
conjunction with National Law Day; and
WHEREAS, Established in 1957 by the American Bar Association (ABA),
Law Day is a national day to celebrate the rule of law and its
contributions to the freedoms Americans enjoy; on February 3, 1958,
President Dwight D. Eisenhower established Law Day by Proclamation; on
April 7, 1961, Congress passed a Joint Resolution, designating May 1 as
Law Day; and
WHEREAS, Raised in Granville, New York, Virginia Mulhall graduated
from Granville High School in June of 1984; and
WHEREAS, Commencing her career, Virginia Mulhall started working at
the Washington County Social Services Department as a typist on October
29, 1984; rising through the ranks, she obtained the title of Senior
Typist on January 15, 1987; and
WHEREAS, In April of 1997, Virginia Mulhall elevated her position to
work with the Department of Social Services attorney; on September 26,
2002, she transferred from the Department of Social Services to the
County Attorney's Office; and
WHEREAS, On January 1, 2006, Virginia Mulhall obtained the title of
Legal Assistant, where she currently serves today; and
WHEREAS, Virginia Mulhall 's dedication and commitment to her work
is an inspiration to her peers and to all those that have had the
pleasure of working with her; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who
enhance the quality of life in their community and have shown a long and
sustained commitment to the maintenance of high standards in their
profession, certainly have earned the recognition and applause of all
the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Virginia Mulhall upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the Liberty Bell Award by the Washington County Bar Association; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Virginia Mulhall.
